We Rock Your Trail
LDTC is on Fingerboard Mountain building a small re-route of the Appalachian Trail. The section we are re-routing is worn and heavily eroded with many loose boulders and exposed roots. This new section will make accending this mountain safer and more enjoyable.
This project took:
13 individual work days with 17 different volunteers contributing almost 800 volunteer hours.
We accomplished:
719 feet of side-hilled trail, 20 stone steps installed, and 83 square feet of crib wall built. The new trail section is now open, blazed, in use by the hiking community and the old section closed.
