Tuesday June 27th. Collecting rocks below the cliffs
on the Hudson River Greenway near Haverstraw beach

Putting the big rocks into the truck

Back at the worksite with the truck full of rocks

One truckload of rocks… . delivered

Now that‘s a nice pile of rocks

It‘s Friday morning back at parking lot D

That‘s a lot of rocks

Marty has our tools ready to go

Early morning safety meeting is a must

Discussing what we want to accomplish today

The first rock of the day is a step for Russ

And away it goes

Now we‘ll move the crib-wall rock
left behind last worktrip

Let‘s move it up to the crib-wall

And place it gently on top of the last crib-wall rock

It‘s 10:30 and time for our safety break

Erik‘s new idea is an old barrel made into a sled or tub

Tub hooked to the high-line

And up the hill it goes

All the way up to the first turn

While that‘s going on,
Russ and Rich continue building the steps

With the tub empty, the rock is shifted into place

Zac and Kevin stop by to see our progress

The next big crib-wall rock is on the line

Jeff holds it in place while the lines are removed

It takes a little adjustment to make it right

It has to fit tightly to be secure and sustainable

End of day crew meeting

Saturday morning meeting in parking lot D

Today‘s crew gathers together at the worksite
for our morning safety meeting

Terri will be in charge of the belay today

Russ is ready for step number 14

Step number 14 is up and ready

While step 14 is being set in place,
Tom digs a hole for the next crib-wall rock

Terri keeps the step in line
by holding the belay nice and tight

The next big crib-wall rock is in the air

Look at that, what was it&quest
was that an UFO&quest

The next crib-wall rock is on the line

It‘s a big one and Terri will control it with the belay

Terri holds on tight as it moves up the line

Next up is Erik‘s tub with several small rocks

It‘s in the air and waiting for the rope puller
to pull it up into place

Checking the spot for the next big crib-wall rock

The next big crib rock is extricated from the pile

Now ready to be lifted into position

Tension puller, slack hoist, hold belay

Next task is to setup high-line #2

Polecat Bob, climbs to the top of the ladder

That‘s our Bob up there,
can you go a little higher?

The last rock of the day,
and it‘s a gargoyle rock for our steps

End of day crew meeting and we all agree
we had a very productive day

It‘s Sunday morning, Erik asks,
can we finish this crib-wall today

On crib-wall #1,
we have only this section left to complete

Russ and Erik work to complete the steps
supported by the crib-wall

The next big crib-wall rock is ready to go for a ride

Poor sling placement is making this a difficult lift

We have attached high-line #2
and are using the rope puller to pull it into position
as Russ tries to keep his footing on the slippery hillside

Hold belay, slack hoist, there it is, it‘s in

Looks like it needs more support
we‘ll attack that after break

Break time Break time,
time to take a little… .safety break

After break, we build in more support

Using Eric‘s truck to rearrange our rock pile

The next step rock goes for a ride

Without a rope-puller attached,
Jack just pushes it uphill

Ahh Lunchtime break in the shade

After lunch the next big rock is ready
to go for a ride on the high-line

Up up up it goes

And placed on top of the crib wall
this will be the last rock for this weekend

We got a lot of work done this weekend,
our project is coming along nicely

That section we wanted to get done today,
mission accomplished

Friday morning to Sunday afternoon

We sure used a lot of rocks this weekend
